Depression can feel like an unrelenting weight that makes even the simplest things feel impossible. It affects your relationships, your work, and the way you see yourself. But recovery is not only possible โ it's within reach.
Whether you're dealing with major depression, bipolar disorder, persistent low mood, or a heaviness you just can't shake, we're here to help you find your way back to a life that feels more meaningful, connected, and like yours.
Depression often leaves people feeling isolated, misunderstood, and unable to see a way out. Many people also feel unsure about whether therapy will actually help. We want you to know: it does. Whatever your experience with depression looks like โ recent or longstanding, mild or severe โ therapy can provide you with real tools for feeling better and living more fully.
At Radiance, every therapist on our team treats depression and mood concerns. It's at the core of nearly everything we do.
We primarily use CBT and ACT for depression, and can draw from a wide range of other approaches depending on what you need and what you've tried before.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps you recognize and challenge the negative thought patterns that fuel depression โ things like "I'm a failure" or "nothing will ever get better." It also uses behavioral activation to help you gradually re-engage in activities that once brought you meaning or joy, even when depression has drained your motivation. Small, manageable steps that rebuild a sense of accomplishment and control.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy focuses on acceptance rather than avoidance. Instead of fighting difficult emotions, ACT teaches you to observe them without being overwhelmed โ and to clarify your core values and take actions aligned with them, even when depression tries to hold you back. This builds psychological flexibility and helps you create a life that feels more meaningful, even in the face of emotional pain.
If you've tried CBT before and want something different, just let us know. Our clinicians each bring specialized training in additional orientations โ somatic, expressive, existential, feminist relational, psychodynamic, IFS, and more โ especially helpful for depression rooted in trauma, relationships, identity, or grief.
